Business Community
Businesses are at the heart of our communities and Suffolk Police Authority is committed to ensuring good relationships between local businesses and the police.
Businesses are the eyes and ears of our communities and we are very keen to hear from our business colleagues on the issues and challenges facing them in relation to crime.
Every year we host an annual ‘Business Crime Forum’, designed to enable the business community to engage with police in effective discussions about the priorities for policing around business crime issues, and how these can be addressed through a partnership approach.
The event is run in partnership with Suffolk Police Authority, Suffolk Constabulary, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Small Businesses, Ipswich and Suffolk Small Business Association and the National Farmers’ Union.
The date for the 2011 forum will be announced shortly.
Quarterly business meetings are hosted by the Authority and the Constabulary and are attended by the Assistant Chief Constable of Suffolk Constabulary, Suffolk Police Authority, Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Small Businesses, Ipswich and Suffolk Small Business Association, Country Land and Business Association and the Road Haulage Association.
These meetings are an important way of engaging with business representatives on a regular basis and ensuring two-way communication.
The Chief Constable and the Chairman of the Police Authority also attend business breakfast meetings with the Chamber of Commerce and host a Suffolk Constabulary Fraud Group.
The Authority intends to issue a regular email to local businesses, updating them on key crime issues and trends, issuing crime prevention advice, giving details of upcoming events and providing links to resources and information. If you would like to receive this email when it goes live, please contact us via email to spa@suffolk.pnn.police.uk
