Gill is married with three adult children and lives in Ipswich. Her career has been mainly in the public sector, in housing, regeneration, social services and latterly at Director level in the NHS. She is currently chair of the Norfolk and Suffolk Probation Trust, and Board member of a local housing association and two charities. At the Police Authority she is link member to Felixstowe and district SNT, and Chairman of the People and Communities Committee.
