Gulshan works as an education consultant, having begun her working life as a teacher. She is involved in leading Ofsted inspections as well as providing training in a wide range of areas and to diverse audiences. Over her career Gulshan has worked with schools, universities, a broad range of education authorities across the country as well as local councils and voluntary sector organisations. Gulshan has three children, two of whom are still at school, the oldest is in his second year at university. She enjoys reading and the cinema, and sports as and when time allows.
Gulshan has been a member of the Suffolk Police Authority since 1999 and was Chair of the Authority between June 2005 and April 2010. She is also a trustee of The Suffolk Foundation.
Gulshan says: “The Police Authority works to ensure an efficient and effective police service, and it is critical to ensuring communities receive the best possible level of policing. I hope that public awareness of the Authority will continue to grow and that more people will become involved in determining how our county is policed.”
