Mary is a mother of three, and is now retired, having worked for more than 20 years for an international insurance broker in the field of human resources.  She has lived in Ipswich all of her life and since retirement has been actively involved in many organisations.  She currently serves the community as a councillor on Ipswich Borough and Suffolk County Council.

Mary Says, “I joined the Police Authority in 2009, being eligible as a county councillor.  I am particularly interested in seeing fairness, diversity and law and order being maintained throughout the community, with the involvement of many outside partners.

"My work with the Police Authority includes sitting on the local Criminal Justice Board and the Community Safety Partnership as well as authority sub-committees."
