Maureen is married with two children and two stepchildren and lives in Ipswich.  She works part-time as a Management Consultant, having retired from Academic Management at the new university. She is very involved in community activities including managing Triangle Living Water, a church based outreach shop, cafe and debt centre in the Triangle area of Ipswich. 

She has been involved with Suffolk Police Authority for over nine years through a number of roles, now acting as Chairman of the Standards Committee, having oversight of the standards of Police Authority members as public and accountable members of the community.
