Peter joined the Police Authority in June 2009 following his election as a Suffolk County Councillor for the Chantry Division in Ipswich. He has served as an Ipswich Borough Councillor since 1979 and was Leader of the Council from 1997 to 2004.

Peter is now retired but previously worked as a Contracts Manager with an international manufacturing company. He is married with two adult sons and six grandchildren.

Peter currently serves on the People and Communities Committee and the Standards Committee.

Peter says: “Being a member of the Authority has given me a real opportunity to understand how the County is policed and all the challenges that are ahead whilst getting to grips with the expectations of the public.”
