Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is responsible for considering issues such as internal and external audit reports, statements of accounts, financial and contractual regulations, risk management, and the performance of the constabulary in relation to the Three-Year Plan.
Membership: seven to nine members of the Authority. Currently:

Terms of Reference:
1. To consider audit reports and to give preliminary consideration to the external auditors’ management letter and to report thereon to the Authority.
2. To consider and approve internal and external audit plans and accounting principles.
3. To consider and approve the Statement of Accounts.
4. To review Financial, Contract and other similar regulations and recommend changes to the Authority.
5. To review the adequacy of internal controls.
6. To review the adequacy of policies and practices to ensure compliance with statutory and other guidance.
7. To review the effectiveness of internal audit at least annually.
8. To consider corporate governance matters.
9. To consider risk management arrangements.
10. To discharge the Authority’s responsibilities to keep itself informed about all complaints and misconduct matters.
11. To consider all matters relating to stop and search.
12. To consider the corporate learning emerging from the above business areas and how it may contribute to the development of the policing of the county.
